Partial Hospitalization Program
The Children's Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) is a short-term therapeutic program designed to help children overcome behavioral and emotional challenges. The program encourages frequent communication between the family, their child and the treatment team. The program is not intended to take the place of school or current providers. Adventist Behavioral Health works closely with community providers and schools so there is a continuum of care provided to the child and the family.
As part of the program, each child will receive care from psychiatrists, nurses and therapists on a daily basis. Adventist Behavioral Health's mental health professionals will complete a comprehensive evaluation to determine the individual needs of each child and treatment recommendation for future growth. The PHP offers a wide range of skill-building activities for children to develop better coping strategies for daily life. The program utilizes a group-based model so children have many opportunities each day to practice new skills with peers.
The Children's PHP takes place Monday to Friday, 8:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. to allow children ages 8 to 12 years of age to maintain the structure and routine of being in school, while receiving intensive therapeutic services. A healthy breakfast and lunch are served daily.
What children will benefit from our program?
